  • Hook at 11? You kidding?
  • At least Braveheart made the list. I had to cut a lot of films that I really liked just get it down this far. It is a shame because most I cut were smaller budget, more cultured movies that a film buff could be proud of, but I'm a sucker for Spielburg and epics, what can I say?

True, I like colorful characters. They stay with me longer and I can usually quote their one-liners. Some movies are here because I love the premise and the story, like Minority Report, others are solely for the characters. Even if the overall film isn't as well done as, say, Braveheart, the higher ranked movies have moments of perfection that I can relate to. The moments that send chills down my back every time I watch it. A good example of this is from one of your favorites–Signs. The final scene with all of its suspense and emotion and how the entire movie builds up to said moment is what makes an awesome movie experience for me. It doesn't hurt that Signs and other films on my list pair those moments with brilliant scores.

Hmmm, isn't Braveheart just a little bit better than Men in Black? or Billy Madison? But I get a much better sense of your taste in movies from this list. You like colorful characters (superman, batman, indiana jones) and you like colorful actors. (Bill Murray, Harrison Ford, Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino)
